If you have tried to get healthy but failed, you are in good company with many women struggling in perimenopause and menopause.

 

As we age, what worked before suddenly doesn't. 

 

Single solution approaches, like; exercise, pilates, yoga, personal training or nutrition alone, no longer yield lasting results without BIG sacrifices (aka willpower). But, willpower is not a long term strategy. If your finding the journey to health gruelling, you are being set up to fail. 

 

One-size-fits all, generic programs can be effective if you need to make a small tweak to your routine or if you are in 20's and 30's when you can bounce back and make big  health  changes quickly. In midlife, these approaches alone don't deliver lasting change.  

Why? Because health is not one-dimensional. It is immeasurably complex. When you try to address a goal as big as wellbeing with a single solution, you never get the result you want. You can probably think of a time when you made a change that was hard but you were sure it would make you feel fabulous...except it didn't. How long did that change last? You are too busy and life is too short for gruelling. After all, aren't you here to feel better?

There is often one symptom that motivates us to change. We get fed up and take action with laser focus to eliminate weight gain, for example. But the issue motivates us to seek change, is often one that has been around for a while and not always the symptom that resolves first. So, how do you know your on the right path?

 

Regardless of what you are doing to move your health forward, you want to know it's working! This is the easiest part of health and crucial to stay motivated.

The key is to take a big picture view. When you do, you may be surprised at the number of annoying symptoms that you assumed were just part of aging and unrelated to each other. Symptoms like; hair loss, dry skin or rashes, weak nails, headaches, gas & bloating, bladder control or sleep issues, to name just a few. These are all signs of what you intuitively knew - you aren't yourself.
